We enjoyed our well-attended exhibition ‘Faces from the Twenties’, during the ADAF 2016 in Amsterdam. More than 3000 enthusiastic art lovers visited the fair, including many students from our own studio. We also enjoyed meeting the desendence of one of the featured portraits ‘Alice Schwarz’. She was the mother of the famous Dutch Writer, Harry Mulisch. She was visited by her daughter-in-law, granddaughter and great-granddaughter. A special gathering!
“Dear Jean, It’s really special for us to see our grandmother, great grandmother, mother in law being portrayed with so much love. I hope she’s here too in some way. Good luck with everything.”
– Love Anna Mulisch
My older sister, whom I have not seen for 40 years, also visited our exhibition unexpectedly. Quite an emotional moment! Thank you all for the kind words and interest! Much appreciated. Here is a small impression of three nice days.
“When I see Jean’s work, I hear the swing, I feel the bepop, I smell the speakeasies. Fantastic!”

“What an eye catcher your stand is Jean! Magnificent and overwhelming. The shiny gold, copper and silver leaf is beautiful and effective! What a tremendously good job. Proud that we have such a teacher. Goodluck. Not too much because then we will no longer be taught “- Yolande and Ria
“Exeptional!!! To walk in the room and instantly be met with a WOW – factor! This is the most beautiful era of the 20 th century. This work derserves to be shown world wide. Fabulous!”
